“I should have been born in the Himalayas!” shouted a patient of mine desperately who was going through a difficult situation. This encouraged me to take the final step to share all these stories with ancestral teachings that are applicable to the modern world and furthermore it inspired me for the title of this book.
The concept of the Dalai Lama of being a happy and fulfilled human being is widely accepted all over the world: Here, in Japan or in Tibet itself.
Considering this universally recognised truth, the following reflections emerge:
What makes this being and other beings like him so happy and joyful? What do they know we don’t know? What have we been “missing”? How is it possible to maintain these states of peace and joy? Were they born this way, or is it the result of some kind of training? Is any of us, the “mere mortals”, capable of reaching those states, even though we were not born in Tibet?
In this book the keys, methods and teachings that will help you to achieve those levels of consciousness, happiness and full joy are shown in a very clear and simple way, through real stories of self-improvement and inner discovery.
During my frequent journeys of inner discovery around the world, I have had the joy of meeting with diverse masters, lamas, monks and other extraordinary beings, from whom I have learned and discovered effective and transforming methods that connect us with the states of well-being of these wonderful beings who live in joy and constant love.
This work is a narrative of my experiences, recounted with a simple and practical language so that we can all understand its essence and know how to apply all these teachings and millenary tools to our own life in this modern world.
If you allow yourself, regardless of your religion, philosophy, age or condition, the practice of some of the keys I share in this book, it will mark a turning point in your life.
You will begin to feel truly blessed, connected to life, to your true nature or even, as the title says, happier than the Dalai Lama!
